THE PURPOSE OF A CHRISTIAN EDUCATION PROGRAM

The Christian Education Committee shall be responsible for the planning and general supervision of the educational ministries of the church.  The goal is to provide unified direction to each ministry, auxiliary and committee so that each person being ministered to will be "admonished and taught with all wisdom" with the same word of God.  What is preached on Sunday should be reinforced in all other church functions.

All ministries of the Church should find its purpose in leading members to a personal development, a concerned ministry, a divine worship, a dynamic witness, and to an application of biblical principles in every day life as set forth in the life of Christ.

The Christian Education Director is appointed by the pastor to provide guidance and accountability to the Church's mission of preparing the hearts and minds of members for worship and service.

THE NEED FOR A PROGRAM OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

  • To interpret religion to its members through teaching that under girds what is being preached in the pulpit.

  • To provide training in worship and devotional life.  Members need to be taught how to sing, pray, and meditate so the worship experience has quality and meaning.

  •  To improve the fellowship of members through organized activities.

  •   Members must be taught how to love neighbors by creating activities that tell the story of love and doing.

  • To provide training in stewardship of personality, duty of self-development, self-investment, acquiring, administering and giving.

  • To teach the members to have pride in having the best organized church, the best-trained leadership, the best physical plant possible, and the best attitudes and determinations to do an acceptable job for Jesus.
